Panama: The Kuna Yala Comarca – October Trip

The Kuna Yala Comarca, Panama: October 2009 from meg simone on Vimeo.

I can’t believe it’s been a YEAR since this trip, and I failed to blog about it back then, so why not do an anniversary post? It will be an appropriate primer for my next update.  If you are looking for a place to totally check out of reality for a few days, or take one adventurous honeymoon, it’s “Panama or Bust!”  Not only did I find the best ice cream in the world (and I’ve been all over the world to sample!) but the scenery, snorkeling, and sunsets were off the charts!

Another trip with Lonely Planet Author Carolyn McCarthy. The Kuna Yala is located on the “Caribbean Side” of Panama. I flew from Boston to Panama City and then took a puddle jumper out to one of the main Kuna Islands. We were picked by by Debbie and Breeze of “Blue Sky” and that’s what we called home for the next seven days.

Shot with my super small Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 Pocket Cam. Yes, I know it sounds like Carolyn is speaking through a tube. You should have heard the wind sound! That was the best I could get her when taking out the wind noise.

As for the ice cream… head to Grancelment in Casco Viejo, Panama!
