This York Harbor Reading Room wedding is sprinkled with meaningful moments and loving sentiments. Be My Anchor. Portland based photographer Melissa Mullen did not let the elements stand in the way of a stunning first look outside on the back deck, and the rain held off for family portraits as well. I love when people infuse a bit of history into the decor of the day, and this cake table cloth is a subtle reminder of those who are there in spirit. David and I couldn’t wait until Christmas, we just watched the feature film. We are both crying!!! You captured the day perfectly! It is wonderful, you are wonderful!!! It is so perfect! – Tammy, Mother of the Bride
“We are in love with it. It is so very magical and perfect in every way. I watch it all the time and I look forward to watching it forever. Thank you! Been sharing it like crazy and everyone is amazed by your work. I have a few friends getting married this year and they are all jealous. They all want videos by you. My married cousins want to get married again just to have the video. Quite the commotion this amazing video has made among the family! :) Just wanted to say thank you and let you know just how much we love it.” – Ericka, The Bride

Team Beautiful Days unloads and sets up. The Cake table cloth is an heirloom piece from the brides family. The grooms family farm provided the homemade Blueberry Jam. Delish!
I love Melissa’s use of natural light and chose a few of my favorites from the day to show on the blog. I loved the movement in the images of the dress coming up the stairs and Ericka walking down the stairs to her first look. I love how Melissa captured the shoes, not just the close up of them but on the dresser, a nod to the antique nature of the home they got ready in, with a modern fall painting on the wall – perfect to represent the day.
The weather did not dampen spirits for a first look and photo shoot outside on the back steps. These two were adorable together! The excitement on Ericka’s face as she makes her way into the church, and of course the happy couple (even in the rain) at the York Reading Room before the reception kicked off.
