FAQ’s about my wedding film services. Reach out if I can answer any additional questions.

Q: WILL WE GET THE RAW FOOTAGE?
A: No – I provide something better: a fully edited ‘Behind The Scenes’ experience of everything we cover during your time frame. This is much easier than clicking through hundreds of unedited files on a hard drive.  You will get your full ceremony, all formalities, and more.

Q: WHAT’S INCLUDED?
A: Every video package includes a full ‘Behind The Scenes’ suite of videos. This is a documentary-style collection broken out into easy to navigate chapters (prep, full ceremony, cocktail hour, toasts, etc). Most couples add a Feature Film (like those on my website), which is perfect when you only have 10 minutes and want to relive the highlights.

The Behind The Scenes edit is for when you want to snuggle up and relive every moment. If this is important to you, within a few days after your wedding, I can provide an edit of the full ceremony and key formalities. This allows those unable to make the trip to feel included in the celebration.

Q: HOW MANY HOURS WILL YOU BE AT OUR WEDDING?
A: For single-day events, I recommend coverage starting 30 minutes before your first look or ceremony through the first hour of open dancing after formalities. This typically ranges from 6-8+ hours depending on if you have a first look. Multi-day events are typically 10+ hours.

For weekend coverage, I start with the ceremony rehearsal and continue through the first half-hour to hour of your welcome party. I love capturing all those hugs, reconnections and new connections.

Q: HOW LONG WILL OUR FILM BE?
A: I take a documentary approach, using 95% spoken word and natural audio to retell your story. Feature Films average 7-15+ minutes, depending on your preferences. If you choose a shorter Highlight Film, those run 2-7 minutes.

Here is a sample feature film at 12 minutes long. Fun fact – I filmed her sisters wedding at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel 17 years ago!

Q: WHO PICKS THE MUSIC?
A: I do, selecting from licensed music libraries like Musicbed to keep everything legal. I take cues from the songs you’ve chosen for your wedding and use music to enhance the emotions in your film. Most of my music is instrumental since the films are story-driven through natural audio and vows.

Q: I’M WORRIED ABOUT TOO MANY CAMERAS! HOW DO YOU WORK WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS?
A: My goal is to document your day while keeping your guests’ experience in mind. I take a fly-on-the-wall approach, most couples don’t even notice me or my second shooter is there.

I also run an elopement photography business, so I understand how important it is for photo and video teams to collaborate smoothly. We blend into the surroundings so it won’t feel like a film production.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A DRONE?
A: Yes, I have an FAA-licensed drone pilot at every wedding. Whether we can fly depends on venue policies, airspace restrictions, and weather conditions.

Q: WHAT ABOUT BACKUP GEAR AND PLANS:
A: I travel with backup equipment and have redundant systems for storing your footage. I always work with a second shooter, and we have backup colleagues available for absolute emergencies. In 25 years of filming (knock on wood), I’ve never had to deploy the parachute!

Q: WHAT IS YOUR TURN AROUND TIME?
A:  I film and edit each wedding myself – I never outsource any part of the process. My contract allows up to 12 weeks, but I typically deliver within 6-8 weeks. During early or late season, you might even receive your film on your one-month anniversary!

Get your favorite movie snacks ready, your wedding film will be in your hands sooner than you think.

This film had so many great stories, it’s the feel good film of the 2025 season!
