Winter Weddings in Whistler, BC

Winter weddings in mountain towns are some of my favorites. Although people do wed in the Mount Washington Valley between December and May, I still can’t figure out why ME, NH, and VT, with all the combined ski areas and resort settings like SugarloafSunday River, Stowe, and The Mount Washington Resort, don’t boast more winter weddings.

In my search to find venues I would love to work a winter wedding at, I came across Tallevi Studios.  Karen and Tim are a husband and wife team based in Squamish, and they photograph weddings around Whistler, Vancouver, and beyond. I instantly loved their work and I think you will too. People may assume winter weddings are cold, always inside, and not colorful enough? The images below from Tiffany and Jack’s winter wedding at Nita Lake Lodge are quite the contrast. Vibrant spring flowers pop against the white snow. Hosting a ceremony outside next to a venue can allow those who need to warm up to scoot back inside. You could also offer guests hot chocolate as they head outside for the ceremony too. Yum!

Peak at Tallevi Studios Blog for more winter wedding inspirations… and trust me, there’s no shortage. Whistler is where it’s at for on snow celebrations!  Thanks Karen and Tim for allowing me to share a few of your images. Marcie at Bliss Event & Design did an amazing job with these floral arrangements! Stay tuned for more posts and ideas on winter weddings.
