Winter Wedding: Church Landing at the Inns and Spa at Mill Falls, Meredith, NH

Winter weddings are suprisgnly not as popular in the Northeast as I would wish. Being a huge fan of snow, the warm glow of a fireplace, twinkling holiday lights, it’s a visually spectacular time of the year to tie the knot.  I am so excited to finally get this 2009 winter wedding of Marissa and Dan, from Church Landing up on the blog. Marissa provides inside information for couples considering a winter wedding, and some key points you won’t want to miss below.

In Marissa’s words: Church Landing for us, was exactly what we were looking for for a wedding venue. We wanted a unique and intimate location where our guests could stay in house. We also wanted a facility that had character and a good reputation. Church Landing fit our bill and then some! The building and location were beautiful, along with the amazing scenery. And it was a bonus to have the shops and restaurants in town for the guests. The staff was very accommodating to myself and our guests and it just seemed to offer a unique twist to the normal weekend wedding hotel spot. For us, it spoke quintessential New Hampshire…exactly what we wanted.

The format that I edited this in is different then most of my films. I did a day after interview with Marissa and Dan which was woven throughout the film.

Church Landing during the holidays meant Christmas trees and greenery, poinsettias and fireplaces, making the venue more beautiful and relaxing. The hustle and bustle of the summertime was lost to the snow covered terrain and offered a quiet and cozier Church Landing. Not only did we get to enjoy the view and have plenty of photo ops around the grounds, we saved money on decorating too.” – Marissa Marchegiani

We couldn’t speak of Church Landing without mentioning Stacey their in house event planner. We are so appreciative of all of the time she spent with us to help make our day a success and thoroughly enjoyed working with her!

Why we enjoyed our wedding day during the holidays…

We feel like it offered us a unique opportunity to do things a bit differently (You’re getting married when? In the winter in NH?) from the cost saving aspect of doing an event off season to having more than enough time to really work with all of our vendors on a more personal level. It’s a great alternative to the norm and we enjoyed the whole process. – Marissa Marchegiani

Photographer: We enjoyed working with Liesl Clark of Claris Photography for our engagement session and wedding. She captured such beautiful moments and details of our day and was a pleasure to work with.

Florist: Oh how we loved our flowers! We worked with Lakes Region Floral Studio. We went from not knowing what our vision was for the day to capturing it beautifully in our flowers and unique centerpieces. I still gush today about how much I just loved my bridal bouquet!

Cake: Greg from Hemlocks Confections was a joy to work with. His creativity and willingness to create whatever we wanted allowed us to piece together many different ideas into a beautiful cake. And the cake was divine too!

Videographer: I can’t speak of my vendors and not rave about our fabulous videographer. Meg was the first vendor I sought out and first one I booked as well. She was an absolute joy to work with. The moments that she captured and video that she produced continues to leave me speechless. We are so grateful for her amazing talent and the memories that we have because of her. By the time our wedding day came, it felt like our friend was taping our wedding…not just another vendor.
