Weddings at the Top of a Ski Resort

Spring Smith Studios – On Snow Wedding at Sunday River

The best part about a winter wedding at a ski resort is that many resorts have big hotels at the base area ie WhistlerBanffAspenVailBeaver Creek, Stowe, Sugarloaf, Sunday River, Tremblant, and more! If you wanted to do everything inside you could. However, if you want to get married “on snow” it’s easy enough to do just steps from the building on the actual ski trail. Some people opt for a summit ceremony accessible by gondolas, and those non-skiing guests can ride both up and down.

The most overlooked benefit of a winter wedding, from my experience, is that it’s not a crazy time of year for everyone involved, and people genuinely seem more relaxed. I love it! Thanks to Spring Smith Studios for allowing me to share these images of a January 2010 wedding on snow at Sunday River. Be sure to peak at Springs new website here. Thanks, Spring!
